Happy Independence Day! I used to call this day "The 4th of July" until yesterday when my mom pointed out that our country is losing focus on this day. They have come to think that it is just a day where people go to baseball games and stay after to watch the fireworks. Do they even know why most of the colors in the pyrotechnic show is RED, WHITE, and BLUE? Do they know how many white stars are on the flag? Do they know what the colors of the flag mean (I don't even know for sure)? Do they know what the flag represents? This is a very troubling topic. As you would drive down the streets just 30 years ago, you would see this

and this

and this

and this

and this!
Every house would be proudly displaying the American flag: the flag that hold so much more meaning than just sitting in lawn chairs, eating hotdogs, and watching the sky light up. Now, most Americans don't even own an American flag, let alone go outside to put it up! WAKE UP AMERICA!!! or we will lose that name. We will lose our freedom. We will lose everything that we stand for. We will lose what our proud military, past and present, were and are fighting for. Stop smelling the roses and look at the flag! Forget about the good stuff that appeal to your senses and look at what matters. THIS MATTERS! Our country, our people, our freedom, our independence! Please America, don't forget that the 4th of July is not another holiday that we adopted from a greek myth or a foreign country's tradition! We fought for this day! People died for this day! People are still being killed, defending this day!

People are still being killed, defending this day! We need to realize that we celebrate this day because this is the day that our FREEDOM from England was declared. We were no longer pushed around under laws we didn't want; under laws we didn't make. We were FREE! ANd now we can't even know what freedom means. "Uh. It means I'm 18 and don't have to listen to my parents." NO! Shut up you stupid, little, naive, imbecile of a human. Sorry for my rashness, but not sorry for speaking the truth. The freedom we celebrate is from persecution: being forced to do something you're not in accordance with. This is our freedom now! our INDEPENDENCE! People can't you understand this?! Be proud of America. Be proud of what it did and what it stands for! Be PROUD!! Don't be ashamed of anything that this country worked, sweated, and died for.
To go along with that (my passion for America), I would like to thank all of the men and women who fought and are fighting to defend this country. This country might be changing and not in the direction you want, but you fought and are fighting with the hope that it might turn back and celebrate what it stands for. Thank you for my safety. Thank you for my freedom. Thank you for my independence. I appreciate your service and thank God that there are people who will stand to fight for what is right. Thank you! And Happy Independence Day!
